The Centre for Social Data Analytics has entered into a collaboration with the University of Queensland's Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) that will see the two research centres work together to establish a social data analytics capability at the University of Queensland.

In the course of the five-year collaboration, CSDA staff from AUT will work closely with colleagues from ISSR and the wider University of Queensland research community on significant translational data analytics research projects in areas including health, child welfare and homelessness.

CSDA Director Rhema Vaithianathan will take a leading role in the project, via a five-year partial appointment as Professor of Social Data Analytics at ISSR.

The collaboration has begun with the appointment of key staff and the establishment of a foundation research programme in social data analytics that draws on expertise from CSDA and across the University of Queensland.

The vision is to establish by 2025 a fully staffed CSDA site at the University of Queensland that serves as a leading centre of its kind in Australia.
